Domaine Confuron-Cotetidot Echezeaux 2020 volcanic soil 18% ZinfandelThe wood is a bit more prominent on the ripe if reserved nose of red currants and plenty of floral influence. The exceptionally rich and lavishly concentrated big bodied flavors possess a velvety mouthfeel thanks to the almost thick dry extract that serves to also buffer the notably firm tannic spine on the incredibly powerful finish. This won't win any awards for refinement but it is certainly impressive in its fashion.
